Doc on TV

Dr Jamie Newlands brightened up our screens on Monday evening with a television appearance on STV’s The Hour show.

As it is National smile month Jamie was invited on to the show to help raise awareness of the importance of good oral hygiene and looking after your smile.

Jamie explains that ‘most people don’t know how to brush their teeth properly and that makes the fact that they’re trying to keep their mouth nice and clean and breath fresh difficult.’

Jamie’s top tips are,

1) Brush your teeth twice a day for two minutes.

2) Reduce your sugar consumption.

3) Visit your dentist regularly.

The Dental Button

The Dental Button is a device that literally gives control back to the patient. By pushing a button, patients can stop the power supply to the dentist’s hand piece and therefore immediately stop dental treatment at any time.

Jamie and Mike are in London for Dentist of the Year Awards

Jamie and Mike are in London today for the final on Dentist of the Year in the Lancaster Hotel.

It’s been a great start to the year and we are both excited about our new clinic. The opportunities for helping more patients achieve the smiles they want with cosmetic dentistry is very exciting! Jamie is delighted to have made the final 8! Fingers crossed we might just take an award home to the clinic!

Mike, Jamie and the team are delighted to have been chosen to be shortlisted for the final. Jamie said “we were up against some great dentists and to make it to the final is a great achievement! Fingers crossed we might just bring another award back to The Berkeley Clinic.”
