Dr Jamie Newlands has be invited to the Sirona Head quarters in Germany at the end of next month to attend the CEREC meets CT Scanning event.
CEREC as a scanning and in-house milling system for tooth restorations is now being linked with CT scanners which detail the structure, dimensions and quality of the bone. Using both techniques in synergy means that implant cases are more streamlined and they are ultimately more accurate. This is a great benefit for patients and dentists alike.
Dr Newlands is allready leading the way as far as dental technology is concerned. He currently has restored thousands of cases using the cerec system and he believes the new link between CT scanners and Cerec is a major step forward for implant cases.
The event will be showcasing the new sytem and the Berkeley Clinic are looking forward to being the first dentist in Scotland to impliment this new system.

Dr Mike receives a lovely review.
I am a 64 year old male (still with all my own teeth ) and I have never had a problem with visiting the dentist until recently. About a year ago I suddenly developed a phobia with having work done in my mouth and I became really nervous in the dentist’s chair. It was so bad that I nearly gave the dentist a bad bite to make him stop and on another occasion I actually decided that I was going home and left the chair just as my treatment was starting. Luckily I have a very patient and understanding dentist but I had to get myself sorted out. I was recommended to the Berkeley Clinic and Mike gave me a call and arranged an appointment. One extended hypnotherapy session cured my phobia and allowed me to complete my treatment with my dentist which was replacing all my old fillings. I had an extended session as Mike wanted to find out why I had suddenly developed my phobia and during the hypnotherapy an underlying personal problem came to light. It seems I had been unconsciously carrying this problem around with me for nearly 30 years and I have now been unburdened from it.My life is now much happier, so from me it is a big double thanks to Mike. So remember dental fear can strike at any age but dental hypnotherapy can really help to relieve it.(and it’s painless).
Best Regards,
Nat Griffiths

The Dental Wand is a new computer controlled device that administers local anaesthetic at a slow and steady flow speed. By means of controlling the flow of local anaesthetic this ensures that there is minimum discomfort for our patients.
Most people have had experiences of discomfort associated with visits to the dentist. The team at the Berkeley Clinic are always looking at new ways in making our patients experience a pleasant one. In most cases people associate the discomfort from local anaesthetic to be caused by the needle. In fact, this is not the case. Any discomfort during this procedure is from the flow of anaesthetic being too great at any given time. The Dental Wand takes away the possibility of human error and ensures the patient does not experience any discomfort.
A great number of people suffer from Dental Anxiety and the team at the Berkeley Clinic are here to help you. We have hepled many of our patients eliminate their Dental Phobias and have a true understanding of how debilitating it can be for someone experiencing Dental Fear. Please feel free to talk to any member of the team in confidence and we can take the neccesary steps in providing you with a relaxed experience. When looking for a Cosmetic Dentist Glasgow who can make a difference, look no further.

The Berkeley Clinic is the first practice in Scotland to offer the ‘dental button’- a device which literally gives control to the patient. By pushing a button, patients can stop the power supply to the dentist’s handpiece and therefore immediately stop dental treatment at any time.
The team at the Berkeley Clinic are continually striving to offer the best possible care for people who suffer from dental anxiety. We understand how difficult it can be for many people to even hear the word ‘dentists’. Dr. Mike Gow uses various phobia management techniques to help with these fears and it is very common that our patients who visit us with dental anxiety, eventually are completely releaved of their fears.
If you suffer from dental fear please arrange a consultation with Dr Michael A. Gow BDS (Gla) MSc Hyp (Lon)

The Berkeley Clinic is one of the first dental practices to offer the ‘b-Calm’ system which uses a complex blend of frequency patterns specifically designed to mask sounds of the dental environment. This device functions as an “acoustic anesthetic” allowing you to control your own level of relaxation, reducing anxiousness and pain perception.
b-Calm is a personal audio system that was designed to relieve patients who suffer from dental phobias of the noises from dental procedures as well as promote a calm and relaxed mind. The ‘b-Calm’ system utilizes in-earphones to execute the AudioSedation technology; a proprietary blend of noise eliminating signals optimized within the calming sounds of nature. The b-Calm system allows the patient to gain control of their dental experience, all in the palm of their hand.
