Dr Mike Gow has some exciting news…..

The Berkeley Clinic team would like to congratulate Dr Mike Gow on his recent invitation of membership from the faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (Glasgow) (MFDS RCPSG).

Mike graduated from Glasgow University Dental School in 1999 and is now the Berkeley Clinic’s leading phobia and anxiety management dentist.

Mike says “I have always been especially committed to the care of dental patients with anxiety, fear and phobia and I enjoy sharing in the positive experiences of the many people I help”.

‘The Fearful Dental Patient’

Fear of dentistry is probably more common that you may have realised. The British Dental Association stated a few years ago that ‘one adult in three has moderate to severe fear of dental procedures’.

Dr Mike Gow Clinical Director of Dental Anxiety Management was approached to write a chapter for a new book called ‘The Fearful Dental Patient’ by Arthur Weiner (ed), published by Wiley Blackwell.

This fantastic book is going to print soon and will be available in book stores across the UK early 2011.

Dr. Mike Gow lectures at the Royal Society of Medicine in London 2009

Dr. Mike Gow lectures for the SAAD Conference held at the Royal Society of Medicine in London. Mike was sharing his expertise in Alternative/Complimentary Anxiety Management. Below we see Mike with Nigel Robb and Martin Foster. Nigel Robb is a senior lecturer at Glasgow Dental Hospital and President Elect of SAAD. Martin Foster is a local advisor with Dental Protection.
