What are wrinkle fillers?
Wrinkle fillers contain a substance called botulinum toxin that is widely used in aesthetic medicine for cosmetic purposes. Botox in Glasgow is now extremely popular as it is used to block the signals travelling from nerves to muscles, preventing the muscle from being able to contract.
Forehead wrinkles in Glasgow have left many of our patients looking for professional wrinkle filler treatment. The great thing about Botox treatment is that it smooths out any wrinkles in areas such as around the eyes, between the brows and the forehead, giving a refreshed facial appearance.
Crows feet in Glasgow are one of the most popular areas on the face that are treated, alongside frown lines in Glasgow. Other treatments which our team complete:
Frown lines between the eyebrows
Horizontal wrinkles on the forehead

Patients can expect to have a result that lasts between 3 to 6 months. The effects tend to last for a longer period of time after repeated treatments. Our highly skilled Aesthetics team will discuss with you the results you can expect to see and advise repeat treatments that will be suitable for you.
Will I experience any pain from anti-wrinkle injections?
Due to the needle being so fine and such small substance doses are used, the treatment is largely pain-free, with the exception of mild discomfort. There is no need for an anaesthetic so you can leave as soon as you are ready. If you are uncomfortable with injections please let our cosmetic surgery Glasgow team know and we can make this as comfortable as possible for you.
How safe are anti-wrinkle Injections?
Anti- Wrinkle Injections are the most popular non-surgical cosmetic treatment in the world and the trend is rising. When performed by trained professionals, muscle relaxant injections have a stellar safety record.
Are there any side effects of muscle relaxant injections?
If wrinkle reduction injections are given by a medical professional, complications are few and are between. When the treatment begins to work, you may experience a temporary numbness at the area of injection. Some patients report minor headaches after the treatment, however, these usually fade within 24 hours. Other possible side effects include an itching or stinging sensation, redness, swelling or bruising at the injection site.
On the rare occasion, some patients experience a temporary drooping of the eyelid, this normally lasts no longer than a few weeks.
Am I suitable for the procedure?
The procedure is an effective procedure for just about anyone who is looking to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Every patient is unique and during your consultation with our facial aesthetics expert, they will determine the best and most effective treatment plan which is suited to you. Generally, when individuals reach 70 most of their wrinkles are considered static and do not fade when the skin relaxes, therefore this treatment would have little or no effect. The Berkeley Clinic also have a dermal filler Glasgow team, contact us to find out more about our wrinkle filler treatments.
Who cannot have anti- wrinkle injections?
Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should avoid treatment during this time. If you have any diseases, involving nerve damage or muscle weakness, anti- wrinkle injections are not recommended.
What else can they be used for?
Platysma muscle plays a direct role in the appearance of the neck as people age. Its position and thickness can determine how and when different individuals will show signs of ageing. Anti-wrinkle injections will weaken any overactive muscular area and the platysma bands are no exception.
Muscle relaxant injections are commonly used for cosmetic reasons however, they can also be used to help alleviate other health concerns such as migraine prevention and to control excessive sweating (a medical condition known as hyperhidrosis). They can be used on the face, armpits and hands by freezing / numbing the sweat glands.
