Are you looking for straighter teeth and a healthier smile?

Luckily, there are many teeth straightening treatment options available that can help, with two of the most popular being Invisalign and ClearCorrect clear aligners.

Invisalign Vs ClearCorrect: What's the difference?

Responding to patient demands for an invisible orthodontic appliance as an alternative to fixed metal braces, the dental industry developed the clear plastic retainer.

To achieve a beautiful straight smile at The Berkeley Clinic in Glasgow, we have chosen to use the two world-leading aligner brands: Clear Correct and Invisalign. Although they may seem similar on the surface, there are a few crucial differences, such as:

  • Price point
  • Type of material used
  • Speed of treatment time
  • Aligner thickness

It's a good idea to familiarise yourself with the differences before committing to a particular tooth straightening treatment, as your own individual requirements will dictate which option suits you best. Scroll to the bottom of this page for a full breakdown of the differences between ClearCorrect Vs Invisalign or book your initial consultation to get the process underway.

ClearCorrect vs Invisalign Effectiveness

Since the initial invention of the clear aligner, several dental manufacturers have produced quality teeth straightening clear aligners, but choosing the best and most effective teeth-straightening treatment can be tricky.

Both clear aligner treatment options offered at The Berkeley Clinic in Glasgow are highly effective solutions for achieving a straighter smile. In terms of the end result, both ClearCorrect and Invisalign will leave you with a gorgeous, straight smile; the clear aligner brand you choose is only going to affect how you get there and how much you pay.

So long as you've worked with your dentist to choose the right teeth straightening treatment plan for you, we're confident you'll love the final result, whichever option you decide on.

ClearCorrect vs Invisalign: Price

Generally speaking, ClearCorrect is a more budget-friendly option than Invisalign treatment. However, the cost will vary from person to person depending on the extent of their treatment, so it’s always best to get in touch with us for a consultation to discuss your specific circumstances.

  • Invisalign Lite - From £2300
  • Invisalign Moderate - From £3800
  • Invisalign Severe - From £4990
  • Clear correct Flex - From £3800
  • Clear correct Ultimate - From £4990

To help our patients achieve the straight smile of their dreams, The Berkeley Clinic offers helpful dental finance plans which can be used to spread the cost of your chosen cosmetic dental treatment.

ClearCorrect vs Invisalign: What are the main differences?

ClearCorrect vs Invisalign: Materials

Both ClearCorrect and Invisalign are invisible braces made with transparent plastic.

The material used for the aligners might look similar, but ClearCorrect aligners are made ClearQuartz™ tri-layer material. This material allows ClearCorrect aligners to be tough and stain-resistant throughout treatments. Invisalign's aligners are now made of a thermoplastic material called SmartTrack that has spent many years in development. Some argue that this feels more comfortable than ClearCorrect, as the plastic is softer and more flexible.

ClearCorrect vs Invisalign: Aligner thickness

ClearCorrect aligners are slightly thinner than Invisalign aligners, meaning they look less noticeable in a patient's mouth. However, ClearCorrect is engineered to cover the gums, meaning that the aligners might rub or irritate the mouth more than Invisalign, which have been trimmed down to only cover the teeth.

ClearCorrect vs Invisalign: Speed

The firmness of ClearCorrect and its ClearQuartz™ tri-layer material means the aligners apply gentle, consistent pressure which retains 10x more of its initial force than other types of aligner, and retain their shape throughout the treatment time.

The speed of your treatment will also depend on what course of aligners you choose. Quicker treatments are available, such as Invisalign Express, Invisalign Lite or ClearCorrect FLEX.

However, these won't suit a patient with moderate corrections to make - the more issues that need to be addressed, the more extensive your treatment will need to be.

ClearCorrect vs Invisalign: Treatment process

Both Invisalign and ClearCorrect use the same fundamental principles to straighten your teeth. Your dentist will create a series of bespoke aligners for you, each tray incrementally different from the last. Once you've completed your treatment, you'll be left with a beautiful straight smile.

Both options provide different treatment plans with different numbers of aligners. Invisalign Express is the quickest treatment available with the most minimal number of aligners. Your Invisalign dentist will recommend whether this would be a suitable option for you.

If you choose ClearCorrect treatment, you will also have to change your aligners regularly. On our treatment plan, you can choose from Limited 6 (6 aligners), Limited 12 (12 aligners) or Unlimited. How frequently you’ll have to swap out your aligners is based entirely on the patient, treatment, and the desired results. Some Invisalign treatments might not require as many aligners but bear in mind that you'll still have to swap out your clear aligners to complete treatment.

So which treatment should you choose?

Overall, Invisalign and ClearCorrect are both highly effective, convenient and aesthetically excellent ways to unlock your perfect smile without using traditional braces. The invisible braces that suit you best will be entirely based on your individual circumstances and priorities.

At The Berkeley Clinic, we always conduct a thorough evaluation of your current oral health and listen to your requirements attentively and with care. This is to help us to decipher exactly which treatment would work best for you.
