Clear Braces Glasgow
The Discreet Approach to Tooth Alignment
Straighten Teeth with Clear Braces
If you would like to straighten crooked or squint teeth, but don’t want to wear brackets or wired braces our clinical care team can offer you clear braces that can transform your smile fast and effectively. We offer a variety of clear braces in Glasgow that enable you to achieve a perfectly straight smile with minimum fuss and discomfort.
What are Clear Braces?
Clear aligners are far removed from the conventional braces that you are probably more familiar with. They are worn over your teeth, a bit like a mouthguard and have similarities to a tooth whitening tray as they are made from clear plastic and are almost impossible to detect. Clear braces are a more aesthetically pleasing orthodontic treatment and are ideal for both teens and adults looking to straighten their smiles without the drawbacks of traditional braces.
What are the Benefits of Clear Braces?
While the majority of patients that visit us are considering teeth straightening for aesthetic reasons and to enhance their confidence, having a straight smile offers other benefits including:
- Teeth that are easier to brush and floss
- Less chance of tooth decay
- Improved oral health.
How do clear braces work?
Unlike traditional braces, invisible braces straighten teeth using a series of aligners or trays. The number of aligners you will wear during your teeth straightening treatment will depend on the severity of your teeth straightening condition. While there are differences between the various types of clear braces, they all move your teeth gradually into their desired position.
Using our 3D scanner we will determine the suitability for treatment by taking digital impressions of your teeth. The aligners are custom made from these impressions with each aligner programmed to move individual teeth in a set sequence at a set time.
When you first put your invisible braces on, they may feel tight, however as your teeth gradually start to straighten the fit will improve until the aligners begin to feel a little loose. This is a good sign as it means the clear braces are starting to work their magic.
Your clear brace treatment will continue with your aligners being changed at regular intervals throughout. Unlike conventional braces, clear braces can be taken out when eating, brushing and flossing your teeth.
What conditions can clear braces correct?
Overcrowding – when the space in your mouth isn’t sufficiently large to enable your teeth to sit perfectly in their correct positions
Overbite – when your upper front teeth overlap your lower front teeth.
Crossbite – when one or more teeth in your upper jaw are biting inside the lower jaw leading to uneven wear.
Spaces between the teeth – large gaps can be a result of missing teeth or abnormal jaw growth
