Meet Priya!

Meet Priya, Priya’s journey in dentistry started at Glasgow University in 1995. Following her graduation, she delved into diverse dental settings, including general practice, hospitals, and a significant role as a Senior Dental Officer with The NHS Borders Public Dental Service. In this capacity, she served as the lead clinician for Special Care Dentistry, showcasing her dedication to providing specialised care.

Priya's commitment to continuous learning is evident through her completion of Diplomas in Person-Centered Counseling and Special Care Dentistry. Her pursuit of excellence extended to training in Intravenous and Inhalation Conscious Sedation through NES, where she now qualifies to provide these services. Priya's expertise in conscious sedation techniques led her to mentor fellow dentists and hygiene therapists, contributing to the broader dental community.

Passionate about treating children, Priya champions a holistic, patient-centered model of care with a strong focus on preventing dental diseases.

Drawing from her experience working closely with paediatric clinical psychologists, she incorporates behavioural and management techniques that transform dental visits into positive experiences for children. Priya specializes in caring for children who face challenges during dental visits due to anxiety and complex additional needs. Her dedication to providing gentle, compassionate care led her to undertake Hypnotherapy Training with The British Society of Medical and Dental Hypnosis (Scotland).

Outside of the dental realm, Priya finds joy and balance in family life. A culinary enthusiast, she enjoys the art of cooking and combines her love for travel with an affinity for shopping trips and "girlie" days out with her young daughter.

Priya's passion for dentistry goes beyond clinical expertise; it's about creating a nurturing environment where patients, especially children, feel understood and cared for.
